- Inspecting and preparing loads for safe movement
- Selecting and inspecting appropriate rigging gear for each job
- Preparing and using rigging equipment such as beams, pulleys, clamps, bolts, and slings
- Setting, aligning, and leveling heavy equipment and machinery
- Maneuvering loads using forklifts, overhead cranes, and other heavy equipment, as well as by hand when required
- Monitoring the condition of rigging equipment and ensuring proper maintenance
- Ensuring all rigging activities comply with company and regulatory safety procedures
- Communicating effectively with maintenance, rigging, and construction teams during machinery moves
- Breaking down and inspecting rigging equipment after use
- Supporting continuous improvement of safe rigging practices
- Performing other related duties as assigned
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum 2 years of experience working as a rigger or rigging millwright
- Hoisting & Rigging Certificate from a recognized provider
- Forklift and overhead crane certification
- Strong knowledge of rigging equipment and heavy machinery
- Familiarity with applicable safety standards and regulations
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- High level of attention to detail and commitment to safety
- Manufacturing and industrial plant environment
- Regular exposure to heavy equipment and moving machinery
- Physically demanding work including lifting, positioning, and maneuvering loads
- Strict adherence to safety procedures and PPE requirements
