This role will oversee a multidisciplinary team through the Development Phase, ensuring alignment between cost, schedule, design maturity, and risk management.The successful candidate will bring deep expertise in project governance, collaborative contracting, and bid-phase procurement, with a strong ability to coordinate between client and contractor teams. This is a high-impact leadership role requiring strategic thinking, negotiation skills, and a proven track record in large-scale infrastructure or rail transit projects.Location: Greater Toronto Area (GTA). They're looking for someone based in GTA, as the role involves attending in-person meetings with clients located there. While the position is primarily work-from-home, local presence is important for occasional on-site engagements.
Method of Employment: Independent Contractor with full-time hours
Contract Duration: 1 year term with potential extensionKey Responsibilities:
- Lead a combined client/contractor team through Target Price development and associated deliverables.
- Coordinate cost/schedule optimization efforts across technical disciplines.
- Interface with independent assurance processes and support commercial close activities.
- Develop negotiation strategies and contingency planning for project execution.
- Degree in engineering, construction management, or related field.
- 15+ years of experience in large infrastructure or rail transit projects.
- 10+ years leading large teams (15+ people).
- Strong understanding of quantity surveying, cost estimating, schedule development, and risk modeling.
- Experience in collaborative contracting and bid-phase procurement.
- Relevant credentials (e.g., DBIA, AACE, Quantity Surveying) are an asset.
