- Certificate of registration as a Registered Nurse with the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Current certification in Basic Life Support and Neonatal Resuscitation Program
- Current certification in Fetal Health Surveillance in Labour
- Certification for Level 1 & 2 Breastfeeding
- Perinatal certification or evidence of plan to complete certificate
- Perinatal Registered Nursing experience including-recent Labour and Delivery experience including antenatal and intrapartum care, recent Caesarean Section experience including the ability to scrub, circulate and recover and recent Post-Partum experience with demonstrated ability in caring for the mother/baby dyad
- Demonstrated neonatal and maternal assessment skills
- Demonstrated breastfeeding knowledge, teaching and leadership skills
- Recent experience in triage an asset
- Recent experience in neonatal resuscitation and care of the newborn
- PNC(C) or eligible an asset
- Perioperative Nursing Certificate an asset
- Experience in caring for sick newborns
- Demonstrated commitment to best practice, nursing standards and life-long learning
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written

- Strong critical thinking, problem solving and decision-making skills
- Demonstrated excellent assessment skills
