- Assist in implementing and maintaining health and safety policies and procedures across all CSN Collision locations.
- Conduct regular shop safety inspections and audits to ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations.
- Identify workplace hazards within collision repair environments including mechanical work areas, paint booths, and equipment usage.
- Recommend corrective actions to reduce risks, create required action plans for implementation, and ensure accountability.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to workplace safety and compliance.
- Ensure all locations maintain consistent and compliant health & safety postings and boards.
- Ensure adequate PPE is available across all locations and monitor proper usage and compliance.
- Ensure first aid kits are maintained, compliant, and fully stocked at all locations.
- Support annual review and updates of CSN health & safety policies to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Lead and coordinate Joint Health & Safety Committee activities including meetings, documentation, and follow-ups.
- Ensure compliance with JHSC requirements across all applicable locations.
- Support incident reporting, investigation, and follow-up for workplace injuries and near misses.
- Provide WSIB-related support to Shop Managers, including documentation and claims coordination.
- Maintain centralized records of incidents, reports, and safety metrics.
- Maintain and track employee safety training and certification records.
- Monitor compliance with I-CAR training, OEM certifications, and other required industry training programs.
- Coordinate scheduling of training sessions in partnership with the Training & Development team.
- Support the development and continuous improvement of health & safety training programs to drive engagement and compliance.
- Support environmental compliance across all collision repair facilities.
- Coordinate relationships with third-party vendors related to:
- Air emissions and paint booth emissions
- Paint and solvent waste handling
- Oil and fluid disposal
- Spill response and environmental incidents
- Ensure proper documentation and reporting related to environmental compliance.
- Maintain and support compliance with SDS (Safety Data Sheets) and WHMIS requirements.
- Coordinate third-party vendors related to safety inspections and environmental compliance.
- Coordinate all required safety inspections including:
- Annual hoist inspections
- Fire suppression systems
- Fire extinguishers
- Support regulatory audits and ensure documentation is complete and accessible.
- Centralize and maintain all safety records, reports, and compliance documentation.
- Support due diligence activities for prospective acquisitions, including pre-assessments and coordination of environmental vendors.
- Work closely with Shop Managers and leadership to ensure consistent implementation of safety programs across all locations.
- Ability to work in both office and automotive repair shop environments.
- Ability to walk through shop floors and conduct inspections regularly.
- Occasional lifting up to 25 lbs may be required.
- Strong organizational, time management, and administrative skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain accurate documentation.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
- Post-secondary education in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Health, or a related field preferred.
- Experience in a health & safety, compliance, or coordinator role preferred.
- Experience in automotive, collision repair, manufacturing, or industrial environments is considered an asset.
- Knowledge of occupational health & safety regulations and environmental compliance standards.
- Joint Health & Safety Committee (JHSC) Certification
- WHMIS Certification
- Occupational Health & Safety Certificate
- Environmental Compliance or Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Certification
- Health & Safety Management Certificate
- Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) or Canadian Registered Safety Technician (CRST) designation is considered a strong asset. Candidates actively working toward CRSP or CRST certification will also be considered
- Experience coordinating compliance programs and documentation.
- Familiarity with I-CAR training programs and OEM certification requirements.
- Experience coordinating third-party vendors related to environmental and safety compliance.
