- Assists with day-to-day operations and programming of the program
- Assists with on-site orientation, training, and performance monitoring of program personnel, including part-time, contractual, overnight, weekend, volunteer, student, and casual workers
- Participates in the orientation of new employees
- Assists in preparing shift schedules for relief and additional shifts to ensure appropriate employee/shift coverage
- Monitors, supervises, and reports to the Team Leader the performance of the program personnel assigned
- Monitors and records in-service training and development of program personnel
- Presents in-service training and attends committees and meetings deemed necessary or appropriate by the Team Leader/Program Manager
- Facilitates team communication and ensures the team is involved in decision-making processes as applicable
- Monitors assigned core team responsibilities (e.g. petty cash, stationery purchases, food purchases, incentives, medication orders, recreation activities, camera booking, and maintenance, file audits)
- Assists in the collection, checking/approval, and submission of time sheets and Leave of Absence (LOA) requests received from program employees
- Prepares fire drills, occupancy, and other reports required by the program
- Ensures serious occurrence reports are properly documented and submitted in a timely manner to the immediate supervisor or designate
- Provides on-site support to the clients on an individual, family, and group basis
- Prepares for, attends, and participates in committees and service meetings.
- Completes and submits monthly documentation as per standard procedures on or before assigned due dates, such as employee timesheets, month-end progress reports, case notes, mileage, cheque requisitions, etc.
- Attends and actively participates in scheduled team meetings. Supports team initiatives and helps to identify problems and suggest solutions
- Regularly updates the Team Leader/Program Manager on program activities and developments
- Communicates effectively and respectfully in a professional manner with clients, both verbally and in writing. Actively listens to clients to understand their needs while being aware of and responding to non-verbal communication.
- Identifies and provides the community resources required to support clients according to the risk assessment
- Ensures that appropriate client care is implemented and provided by our employees
- Attends Service Team Meetings and Conflict Resolution Meetings as needed
- Assists in maintaining building and equipment according to Agency standards
- Submits request for equipment purchase as required
- Performs other related duties as required
- Minimum of a Diploma in a Human Services discipline or equivalent
- A degree in a Human Services discipline is an asset
- Additional relevant certifications or designations considered an asset
- Minimum of three (3) years of professional experience with family violence, addictions, and high-risk behaviors
- Minimum of one (1) year of professional supervisory experience preferred
- Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered
- Sound knowledge of the following techniques is required: crisis intervention, anger diffusion, conflict intervention, and resolution?
- Effective English-language communication skills, both verbal and written, to communicate, understand, comprehend, and comply with all job requirements
- High level of professionalism, confidentiality, and diplomacy; with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential information and comply with all regulatory requirements and Agency Privacy and Confidentiality policies and procedures
- A high degree of resourcefulness and flexibility to adapt to changing needs of clients, circumstances, programs, and Agency
- Knowledge of and effective collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, professionals, service providers, and community resources
- Competent in working with applicable Microsoft Office suite programs
- Proficient in the use of other Agency-assigned computer applications and databases
- Facilitation skills and ability to make presentations and facilitate workshops
- Proven problem-solving skills with the ability to visualize and deliver creative solutions
- Proven delegation, negotiation, and leadership skills.
- Ability to identify front-line themes and trends and postulate corresponding solutions
- Ability to work collaboratively as a member of a team as well as independently with minimal supervision
- Ability to support employees to increase their competencies and learn from their experience in a strength-based manner
- Ability and willingness to work various shifts (which may include nights, days, evenings, and/or weekends) as required to meet client and/or Agency needs
- Ability and willingness to travel, as required, to different offices, programs, and other sites to attend and/or conduct meetings, and/or training
- Flexible work hours are required which may include rotating nights, days, early mornings, evenings, and weekends. Overtime hours may be required. Advance notice will be provided when possible
- As our program operates 24 hours per day and to meet the needs of our clients, flexible work hours are required which may include rotating nights, days, early mornings, evenings, and weekends
- Occasionally works in a standard office environment with standard office equipment
- Regular interactions with external contacts including clients, client's family members, key stakeholders, partners, government agencies, and members of the community
- Regular interactions with internal employees
- May be exposed to infectious waste, diseases, and conditions including viruses and pathogens (bloodborne and/or airborne)
- Occasional travel is required throughout Edmonton & surrounding areas
- The hourly rate for this position is $25.788 - $29.011 per hour based on qualifications and experience.
- This position will be eligible for a $2.00/per hour Program Premium
