Job Description :Product Development EngineerAbout the RoleWe are seeking a highly skilled Product Development Engineer (P.Eng.) to join a growing, innovative engineering team supporting construction-related products across Canada. This role will provide structural engineering expertise, guide product design and development, manage technical documentation, and ensure compliance with Canadian standards and building codes. Your work will directly impact product innovation, project decisions, and overall team confidence in pursuing new opportunities.Key Responsibilities
  • Provide guidance on Canadian standards, codes, and regulations, particularly for construction in BC, AB, and ON.
  • Support internal teams by offering technical insight that enables confident project go/no-go decisions.
  • Lead new product design and development, from concept to implementation.
  • Develop and maintain technical product documentation, including specifications, approvals, and test reports.
  • Coordinate with external engineers and certification bodies for approvals, inspections, and product testing.
  • Facilitate third-party site inspections and provide clear technical communication.
  • Serve as a technical liaison across teams, translating engineering requirements into actionable guidance for sales, manufacturing, and design.
  • Oversee or collaborate with CAD/drafting resources to create or review technical drawings.
  • Mentor team members by sharing engineering knowledge and best practices.
Required Qualifications
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) license in Canada.
  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in structural or product engineering, preferably within construction or manufacturing.
  • Strong knowledge of Canadian building codes and standards.
  • Experience with product design, development, and technical documentation.
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team-oriented culture.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with construction industry products.
  • Hands-on experience with CAD or drafting, or strong experience coordinating with external drafters.
  • Experience managing product certifications and testing.
  • Exposure to multi-location collaboration across different Canadian regions.
