- Obtains technical guidance required to support Project technical issues and provides guidance to field teams as required
- Ensures distribution of field quality procedures
- Prepares and submits Requests for Information and similar documents to obtain response to technical questions from Client and/or Engineer
- Prepares and transmits submittals required for approval of technical issues, vendor documents, and material information
- Ensures Project quality requirements are incorporated into field installation requirements
- Tracks and collects quality documents and records of correction of field quality issues
- Tracks costs for assigned Projects and analyzes costs with support from others
- Prepares and updates Project Schedule based on input from construction supervision
- Publishes schedules as required for Client and/or Company including narrative explanation of schedule with support from others
- Prepares budgets based on Project estimate and inputs into Company ERM software system
- Prepares cost forecast for assigned Projects and develops plans for improvement with support from others
- Reads, reviews, and understands Client Contract content and requirements with support from others
- Communicates with Client concerning changes in Contract scope or terms with goal to obtain appropriate Contract Change Order
- Negotiates with suppliers and subcontractors for the benefit of the Company and Project within limits of authority
- Tracks and expedites supplier technical submittals and delivery and ensures review and approval of all subcontractor submittals according to subcontract requirements.
- Prepares and publishes required Project reports which may include daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports.
- Reviews supplier and subcontractor requests for change order for accuracy and compliance with terms of the agreement.
- Rejects or provides/obtains approval after review and implementation of any corrections
- Schedules and may host regular Project review meetings including Project Kickoff and Closeout Meetings and publishes meeting minutes for applicable meetings
- Ensures implementation of Project plans for HSE, Quality, overall execution, cost management, change management and other areas
- Tracks and manages overall changes in the Project. Acts to prevent potentially negative HSE, quality, cost, schedule, etc. impacts to Company and Project
- Reports changes to Company or other Departments as required
- Other projects & duties as assigned
- Three (3) + years' experience in a field involving linear construction, civil and/or industrial, is required. Electrical transmission or pipeline and/or industrial construction, is preferred
- Knowledge of main construction office processes; project set-up; subcontract management; change orders; RFI's; closeout, sub-scopes and sub-trades, is required
- Post-secondary education in Construction Management, Project Management, or an engineering discipline related to the company's work is preferred. A combination of education and relevant experience will be considered.
- Proven experience with providing direction and managing multiple concurrent projects
- Communicates effectively with all levels of management and industry contacts
- Proficient with Microsoft Office suite, Microsoft Project and Primavera P6
- Able and willing to travel to and work in remote project locations, embedded in operational work groups
- Have and maintain a valid driver license and acceptable give (5) year drivers abstract
