- Financial Risk Framework: Establish and maintain a brokerage-wide framework for liquidity, cash management, interest rate risk (IRR), collateral management and foreign exchange (FOREX) exposure.
- Capital & Funding: Support the Group CFO in developing enterprise-wide capital management strategies, funding plans, and debt management activities.
- Investment Oversight: Provide strategic direction for corporate cash and short-term investments to maximize returns while maintaining regulatory liquidity.
- Digital Transformation: Optimize the use and maintenance of Treasury Management Systems (TMS) and internal controls.
- AI & Automation: Identify opportunities to implement and utilize AI and advanced tech tools where appropriate to enhance treasury functions.
- Process Engineering: Demonstrate a proven track record of building and developing more efficient treasury processes through the strategic application of technology.
- Operational Excellence: Recommend and implement continuous improvements to cash management processes and workflows.
- Leadership & Development: Lead, mentor, and manage the Treasury team, including the Director, Treasury Operations, ensuring effective performance management and talent development.
- Stakeholder Partnership: Partner with Product, Brokerage Operations, Technology, and Legal teams to ensure products are optimized, competitive, and profitable.
- External Relations: Lead strategic relationships with banks and financial institutions, maintaining all bank mandates and corporate accounts.
- Cross-Functional Input: Provide expert Treasury input into corporate budgeting, forecasting, and funding plans for new acquisitions.
- Have 10–15 years of progressively senior experience within a Treasury function, specifically within a Broker-Dealer or regulated financial services environment.
- Hold a University degree in Finance or Business; MBA, CFA, or CPA designation is strongly preferred.
- Have Extensive knowledge of capital markets, funding programs, and asset/liability management (ALM) principles.
- Have In-depth knowledge of the Canadian securities industry (including IIROC/CIRO rules) and liquidity requirements for deposit-taking institutions.
- Have demonstrated the ability to present and defend complex financial strategies to the CFO, CEO, and Board of Directors.
- A Certified Treasury Professional (CTP) designation.
