- Participate and lead for major projects; responsible for technical, cost, scheduling, and performance decisions.
- Develop control system architecture, including design of control system hardware and software.
- Prepare specifications for configuration design, user requirements, functional requirements, and process narratives using instrument and I/O lists, P&ID diagrams.
- Coordinate the development of project scopes and aligns expectations with the project team and customer applying appropriate standards including cGMP guidelines, FDA regulations, and corporate procedures
- Assist in the identification of user requirements and uses engineering knowledge to guide stakeholders in understanding of trade-offs between cost, schedule, quality, and risk
- Develop and formalizes project management plans including team charter documents, work and organizational breakdown structures, integrated schedules, commissioning, and qualification planning, change management process and project closure, to ensure controls are in place throughout the project lifecycle
- Establish cost baseline and capital expenditure (CapEx) requests, and monitors and reports on baseline using forecasting tools and earned value management
- Follow engineering standards across projects by identifying and implementing best practices. Be accountable for quality.
- Identify and suggest initiatives for continuous quality improvement in safety, efficiency, quality, and process profitability.
- Manage competing demands and priorities.
- University Degree or College Technologist Diploma in Mechanical, BioSystems, BioMedical, Chemical, Instrumentation, Electrical or Computer, accompanied by 8+ years in industry or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience in a Pharmaceutical or other federally regulated industry considered an asset.
- Previous experience in using DeltaV, and PLC systems is strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of standards, techniques, policies, and processes.
- Knowledge of equipment, facilities, utilities such as water purification, compressed air, and HVAC.
- Knowledge of engineering principles, standards, techniques, policies, and processes.
- Strong project management skills.
- Demonstrated knowledge of practice of researching engineering and design issues and evaluating alternatives.
- Good leadership/decision making skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to handle several tasks simultaneously.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite Products.
