- Developing innovative technical approaches and solutions for single- and multi-discipline projects.
- Leading electrical engineering and design development over the entire project lifecycle through design basis memoranda, calculations, sketches, technology selection, 3D model development, drawings, and specifications.
- Preparing and revising documentation through all project phases and modifying technical drawings and work plans according to engineering principles and procedures.
- Performing electrical design calculations, including cable and raceway sizing, equipment sizing, power system studies, lighting design, and heat dissipation.
- Developing project deliverables including single line diagrams, schematics, wiring diagrams, cable routing, cable schedules, junction box layouts, bills of materials, hazardous area classifications, lighting and grounding layouts, control panel layouts, datasheets, instrument layouts, and design details.
- Performing detailed reviews of electrical codes, standards, and specifications to ensure designs meet all project requirements.
- Performing quality control activities in accordance with project requirements, including detailed deliverable reviews, interdisciplinary reviews, and independent technical reviews.
- Participating in project design reviews with internal team members and/or clients, vendors, sub-consultants.
- Conduct field reviews to develop project scope, meet with project stakeholders, and verify field conditions.
- Providing construction support to projects, including RFI and shop drawing review, field inspections, and commissioning support.
- Assisting project managers and senior engineers in developing and managing project scope, budget, and schedule.
- Create and develop client relationships and assist client account managers, project managers, and senior engineers with business development duties as required.
- Providing guidance, training, and mentorship for junior designers and engineers.
- Following developing technologies in electrical engineering, control, and instrumentation.
- Completion of other relevant duties as required.
- Thorough understanding of applicable electrical and building codes (e.g. CSA, IEEE, API, NFPA).
- In-depth knowledge of electrical engineering concepts, construction methods, and approaches and the ability to clearly communicate technical concepts to others.

- Proficiency in MS Office Suite and PDF editing programs (Bluebeam, Adobe) used to create reports and documents.
- Knowledge of CAD design software tools such as AutoCAD, Navisworks, MicroStation, and Revit would be an asset.
- Experience with specialized electrical engineering software such as ETAP, SKM, and AGI32 would be an asset.
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent.
- Minimum of 5 years of Electrical Engineering experience in oil and gas, EPCM, or related industry.
- P.Eng. registration with APEGA.
- P.E. (US) registration would be an asset.
