Brief Description:Our employer is a cultural festival from August 30 – September 6 at various venues around the city from downtown to uptown. The Foundation showcases the work of leading contemporary artists from Canada and around the world working in all artistic disciplines. Their mandate and programming encompasses a vast range of pan-Jewish music and art, including Sephardic, Ladino, Falasha and Mizrachi traditions, and also strongly emphasizes fusion and cross-cultural exchange with artists from outside Jewish cultural traditions. They are looking for dynamic coordinator to join their team individual and work closely with all festival staff members on volunteer & vendor recruitment and logistics.Job Function:
- Organize all volunteer-related details for the concert series
- Communicate with existing volunteers and vendors
- Recruit and train new volunteers and vendors
- Create and manage volunteer schedules
- Coordinate volunteers and vendors on-site during the concert series and festival
- Recruit and coordinate a vendor for third-party merchandise sales
- Coordinate street teams for materials distribution and grassroots marketing
- Arrange volunteer-run airport pick-ups
- Update and maintain the Ashkenaz volunteer database
- Prepare a post-festival report with activities and recommendations
- Plan and implement a volunteer thank-you gesture
- Perform other related duties as required
Job Requirement:
- Strong communication skills (both oral & written)
- Excellent organizational, time management and problem-solving skills
- Adaptability and ability to think on your feet
- Strong interpersonal skills, especially if dealing with challenging people or situations
- Detail-orientated
- Fluency with Microsoft Office (particularly Excel), e-mail, Internet
- Must work well both independently and as part of a team
- Must be mature-minded, flexible and comfortable working in a fast-paced, non-corporate environment
- Knowledge and interest in music, the arts and/or Jewish culture is an asset
