There's a seat at our table for you...Position: Driver Helper (Driver in Training) - Kamloops, BCSchedule: 3 x 12 | Monday, Wednesday, Friday| 4:30 AM startsPosition Summary:This Driver Helper role is typically an interim assignment intended to position employees for potential long-term success. There will be an expectation for the employee to a obtain a Class 1 license, if not currently licensed. The required time for the employee to obtain the license may vary according to divisional needs. GFS will assist the successsful candidate through the GFS MELT Program to obtain their Calss 1 license if all requirements are met. This position is based out of Kamloops.What We Offer:Hourly rate starts at $24.11Medical, Dental, Prescription Drug, and EAP Benefits after 30 days of employmentFULL flex benefits programSteel toe boot reimbursementCompany matching RRSPProfit Sharing125 year, family-owned and operated company historyFamily culture and advancement opportunitiesEssential Functions:Assists driver to ensure safe, accurate, timely, and efficient deliveries of GFS products.Builds and maintains courteous customer relationships.Completes check-ins in a timely manner with no errors.Collaborates with management and Sales Service Representative / Driver to communicate customer concerns.Develops and maintains a good working relationship with other GFS employees.Provides Sales Service Representative / Driver assistance with paperwork to include register, credits, pick-ups.Performs other duties as assigned.Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:Ability to perform repetitive heavy lifting, pushing and pulling tasks up to 90lbs.Ensures safe, accurate, timely, and efficient deliveries of GFS products.Ability to display customer service in a courteous, friendly mannerAccurately collects customer payments. Safeguards company funds and follows GFS banking policyPerforms proper equipment maintenance, monitors reefer temperature, and reports mechanical issues and damages in timely manner.Collaborates with management and drivers to communicate customer concernsMust obtain class 1 learners within 3 months of employment--We thank all applicants for their interest, however only those selected for the next stage will be contacted.
