- QMS Implementation: Assist in the implementation and maintenance of QMS and food safety system, ensuring adherence to GFSI and SQF standards.
- Audit Support: Lead internal and external audits by preparing documentation and ensuring corrective actions are implemented promptly.
- Regulatory Compliance: Monitor and ensure compliance with government and company regulations, and investigate food safety incidents and customer complaints.
- Continuous Improvement: Contribute to a culture of quality and continuous improvement by identifying opportunities for process enhancements.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Work with R&D, production, and sales teams to support effective product execution and new product development.
- Documentation and Training: Establish new, and, update existing standard operating procedures, sanitation procedures, and lead document process control, and training initiatives. Team Supervision: Supervise and provide guidance to technical team members, supporting their professional development.
- Quality Assurance Practices: Assist in implementing quality assurance policies and practices, including sampling, testing, validation, and equipment maintenance and calibration. Technical Support: Provide support for quality assurance processes, product development, and sanitation issues.
- Data Management: Assist operations and R&D with statistical Process Control (SPC) and data analysis as needed.
- Undergraduate degree (or equivalent work experience) in Food Science, Food Technology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology or related fields.
- Minimum 5 years experience in food safety and quality assurance with supervisory experience. Training and experience in food safety and quality management.
- Familiarity with GFSI food safety standards (SQF preferred), pre-requisite programs (e.g., HACCP, GMP), food safety regulations (SFCA and FSMA preferred) and quality management system auditing.
- Experience in the laboratory techniques involved in complying with the above programs
- Strong understanding of food safety regulations and facility/equipment design.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
