
Apprentice Refrigeration Technician

- Assist in troubleshooting electrical systems, basic controls, and unit control panels
- Learn to perform inspections using multimeters, pressure gauges, electronic diagnostic equipment, etc.
- Participate in assembling and installing refrigeration or A/C components such as motors, controls gauges, valves, circulating pumps, condensers, humidifiers, evaporators, and compressors.
- Develop skills to install, troubleshoot, and overhaul entire heating, ventilation, air handling, refrigeration, and air conditioning systems.
- Assist in recharging systems with refrigerant. Checking and testing regulators and calibrating the system.
- Help repair and replace parts and components for entire refrigeration, air conditioning, ventilation, or heat pump systems.
- Support installation of piping using both press and brazing methods.
- Contribute to starting up and shutting down major building equipment seasonally.
- 2nd to 4th year Refrigeration Apprentice with previous HVAC experience on commercial, industrial, or institutional work sites.
- A basic understanding of servicing, troubleshooting, diagnosing, repairing, and installing HVAC.
- Able to fulfill the physical requirements of the role.
