Accounting Analyst, Real Estate Development

- Record monthly journal entries.
- Reconcile and maintain a full understanding of all balance sheet and income statements.
- Prepare detailed monthly variance analysis of balance sheet accounts.
- Review, code and process approved invoices through to payment and filing.
- Manage accounts receivable and ensure that monthly revenues are collected on time.
- Prepare monthly HST remittance and federal tax installments.
- Complete monthly bank reconciliations.
- Maintain all accounting files in an organized and efficient manner
- Assist the Finance Manager with ad hoc tasks and/or special assignments as requested.
- Three (3) to five (5) years of experience in a related position.
- Post-Secondary education in Accounting, Finance or related discipline is required.
- Strong accounting skills and ability to apply accounting theory, principals and techniques.
- Knowledgeable in auditing practices and principles.
- Practiced in the set up and maintenance of spreadsheets and databases as well as organizing data to prepare reports and financial documentation.
- Strong critical thinking as well as analytical skills.
- Demonstrated experience in accounting software (i.e. Simply, Accpac, Quickbooks, Yardi, etc.)
