- Lead and inspire a small team of designers and writers who work across channels - from digital, to video, dm, print and collateral.
- Manage the creative process from concept to execution, including production and outside suppliers.
- Works closely with the other directors on the team - marketing, communications, strategic content and community giving to tell compelling stories of donor impact and life-changing discovery.
- Coaches the many teams in the foundation on how to leverage our brand identity and voice in their areas of expertise.
- Partners with the agencies that plan and execute our major in-market brand activities, taking responsibility for ensuring stakeholders work in harmony to enhance the overall brand.
- Strong strategic acumen and understanding of the role of data analytics in test and learn digital creative effectiveness.
- Stays on top of technology trends and digital best practice to enhance digital creative.
- Effectively presents and explains concepts to non-marketers.
- Keeps on budget and on deadline.
- Experience people leader (and has experience nurturing the creative ideas of others, growing direct reports, and has a passion for people).
- CD experience in an agency or in-house role with digital-first approach.
- Experience in confidently managing teams in a complex, fast-paced environment.
- Connections with talented freelance creatives.
- Ability to handle multiple projects at once.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Takes ownership of projects and results.
- Great storyteller
- A relevant 4-year degree or, a relevant degree/diploma combined with a professional certification or, an equivalent combination of formal education and relevant experience.
- Proficiency in the full suite of Adobe Creative Cloud, Wordpress and Microsoft Office.
- 7 to 10 years of experience 5 years of experience as a people leader.
- Solutions focused mindset.
- Awesome portfolio of work you have led as well as your own work.
- Idea-first thinker, comfortable writing or designing.
- Experience across the range of executional channels with an appreciation of the nuances that make work effective in each.
- Ability to work cooperatively with colleagues in all positions throughout the organization.
