
Senior Water Treatment Engineer

- Lead the modeling and simulation of water treatment processes, utilizing advanced computational tools and techniques.
- Ensure designs comply with all applicable environmental regulations and standards.
- Conduct assessments and identify areas for improvement in existing water treatment systems.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to design and implement innovative water treatment solutions.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and project staff.
- Prepare and review technical reports, proposals, and documentation for regulatory submissions.
- Engage with stakeholders, including regulatory agencies, clients, and community members, to discuss project developments and compliance matters.
- Assist with the planning and pursuit of new business opportunities.
- Uses creativity, foresight and mature judgment in anticipating and solving unprecedented technical problems.
- Provides visible industry and technical leadership within and outside of AECOM
- Bachelor’s degree and 10+ years of relevant engineering experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and education in water treatment engineering, with a focus on developing client focused solutions while achieving modeling and regulatory compliance
- Registered as a Professional Engineer in the province of BC (or eligible to become registered within 12 months)
- 20+ years of experience in water treatment engineering, with a focus on developing client focused solutions while achieving modeling and regulatory compliance
- Strong knowledge of water quality standards, treatment processes, and environmental regulations.
- Experience understanding client challenges and developing practical engineering solutions.
- Master's degree in related field or demonstrated experience
- Advanced knowledge of water treatment processes, technologies, and industry best practices
- Expertise in water treatment modeling software and data analysis tools
- Strong understanding of local, provincial, and federal regulations related to water treatment and quality
- AWWA certifications or other relevant water treatment specialties preferred
- Travel as needed for project site visits and client meetings.
