- Routine Monitoring/Maintenance Activities
- Develop and administer unit inspection plans and programs
- Including to ESDP (or just ES) inspection related tasks
- Evaluate and endorse the installation of repairs (temporary or permanent), rerates and alterations
- Review Hot Taps
- Provide input and Review equipment strategy development process
- Conduct or coordinate external and internal equipment inspections and area inspection
- Co-ordinate planned NDE activities
- Document and report inspection findings
- Develop long range inspection plans and co-ordinate with operations plans
- Co-ordinate the review and approval of inspection exemptions
- Analyse corrosion data and update inspection intervals
- Ensure that the equipment files and inspection records arc updated
- Report inspection recommendations and concerns to Business Team through routine reviews
- Steward inspection plans
- Assist Chief Inspector in evaluating compliance to Fixed Equipment Quality Assurance (FEQA) Manual. ERIM, and Quality Assurance Manual requirements.
- Develop new inspection procedures or programs as needed
- Ensure that materials selection is completed as required
- Develop specifications for advanced inspections
- Evaluate the impact of new or abnormal operating conditions on plant fixed equipment inspection schedules
- Maintenance Turnarounds Activities
- Provide inspection input into turnaround worklist development risk-based work selection (RBWS)
- Provide maintenance organization with inspection requirements
- Review Quality Control plans for turnaround
- Ensure appropriate QC functions are executed during turnarounds (may require review of welder qualifications/performance and pre-shutdown approval of applicable welding procedures)
- Plan and co-ordinate all non-destructive examination (NDE) activities
- Conduct internal and external inspections
- Monitor NDE activities
- Evaluate and document NDE results for acceptance and/or repair
- Compile inspection data and issue equipment condition reports
- Prepare and publish formal turnaround reports
- Ensure equipment history and inspection records are updated in inspection database
- Participate in PDS reviews as appropriate (Unit Inspector only)
- Ensure that new construction quality control procedures are executed
- Evaluate the impact of new conditions on plant fixed equipment inspection schedules, which are to be documented with ES devlopement and/or evergreen
- Review and approve plans for inspection of new facilities including work in fabrication shops and field
- Ensure new equipment profiles are created in inspection database and basic data entered
- Establish "base" equipment monitoring requirements for new equipment and coordinate collection of "base" data for inspection database records.
