- Reviewing and analyzing financial statements
- Preparing credit investigations, security inspections and searches
- Working with business Lending Support to oversee procession of credit progress advances
- Preparing credit facility letters for review; assist in resolution of outstanding security/account deficiencies
- Having detailed knowledge and understanding of the corporate structure of members (Op-co, Holdco, multiple owners etc.)
- Understanding and interpreting complex statements; able to consolidate statements
- Calculating and understanding more complex ratios and what they mean in relation to credit
- Being proficient in required security documentation
- Understanding standard conditions for simple and more complex applications
- Completing complex credit reviews and renewal with minimal supervision and be able to complete short form reviews, ensuring compliance with all credit policies and practices using: account status and repayment history, financial statement review, security review, debt service analysis and risk ratings
- Ensuring all documentation is completed and accurate
- Completing new credit application for existing members and be able to provide recommendation
- Completing the entire application for simple credits and most of the application, with little to no supervision required on more complex credit and new member requests
- Assisting members with loan and deposit inquiries
- Communicating information accurately to members and team members
- Preparing commercial loan renewals
- Ensuring a high level of member satisfaction by assisting with inquiries, following up as necessary, and understanding the member's finances to recommend the most valuable products and services
- Differentiating between credit union and competitor products and service
- Participating in the development and support achievement of sales targets and marketing plans
- 1-2 years of banking experience as a Financial Advisor or Credit Analyst
- Knowledge of reading financial statements
- Minimum Grade 12 with combination of education and practical experience
- Diploma in Business Administration or Management with courses in legal terminology or business law an asset
