Closing Date: September 10, 2025The Physiotherapist (PT) position offers an exciting opportunity to work with outpatient Geriatric program patients at Toronto Rehab, University Health Network. The position will allow a PT to work within a specialized environment to provide service for Geriatric program patients and families. The PT is a key member of the interdisciplinary health care team. Through the provision of patient and non-patient care activities, the PT enhances the quality of life of patients by:
- Providing physical therapy assessment and treatment for patients
- Collaborating with inter-professional team in providing patient focused care; communicating effectively with patients, families, and team members;
- Supporting patients' health behaviour change;
- Participating in program planning and development and professional and hospital initiatives supporting quality management and research;
- Complying with and commitment to patient safety responsibilities and corresponding hospital plans, policies and procedures in order to ensure a safe environment for patients.
- Successful completion of a Bachelor of Science Degree in Physiotherapy (BScPT) or equivalent
- Minimum of 2 years clinical experience is required
- Current registration with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario
- Membership with National and Provincial Professional Associations is preferred
- Previous experience working with the Geriatric population is preferred
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (B Level or C Level) Heart Saver Plus Canada
- Experience as member of interprofessional team required
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written) required
- Excellent problem solving skills
- Complies with the legislation outlined in the Regulated Health Professions Act, (1991)
- Complies with the Code of Ethics and Rules of Conduct of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association
- Demonstrates competence with departmental and hospital safety, emergency and infection control procedures
- Ability to exercise sound clinical judgment and to function in an independent, self-directed manner
- Computer proficiency required
