- Degree or Diploma in an engineering discipline, Journeyman machinist, Mechanical Technician, or an equivalent combination of similar relevant education and experience
- Previous experience in an automated manufacturing environment considered an asset.
- Continuous improvement experience considered an asset
- Previous grinding and/or machining experience will be considered an asset and may provide an advantage to the applicant
- Must be eligible to work in Canada
- Fluency in English
As part of the Plant 41 multidisciplinary team, the Manufacturing Specialist will be responsible for processing parts through the manufacturing line utilizing multi-skilling abilities in a 24-7 environment, 12 hour shift environment. The selected candidate must be able to work all shift hours, including night shift.The operator will be expected to perform multiple tasks throughout the line and must be fully aware of export control requirements and adhere to expectations.Specifically, you will:
- Work within a highly specialized team to establish and achieve high expectations, goals and daily targets.
- Maintain an engaged attitude.
- Manage multiple tasks at various levels of completion, using the best use of time and resources to complete work.
- Use specialized equipment, related software and systems such as, but not limited to, robotics, machine logic, tooling, Human - Machine Interface (HMI), and Computer Numerical Controlled (CNC) grinding, milling, part marking and ATTI.
- Set up, monitor and troubleshoot automated manufacturing center equipment.
- Facilitate continuous improvement by using tools such as Kaizen events and CORE Operating System.
- Keep current with job requirements, products, computer technology (e.g. MS Office products), and company policies.
- Actively participate in the development of processes and standard work documents that will create a productive, self-sustaining cell that operates at the highest CORE level.
- Be actively involved in maintaining training documentation (OJT’s , Standard Work) and leading area training as required.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks (TPM walk arounds) and assist maintenance with PM activities.
- Work with the various Plant 41 support areas to ensure cell success and compliance
- Support EH&S initiatives and actively participate in incident investigations, tier 1 audits and WAA
- Report and present on Manufacturing Line.
