
Shunter/Shift Coordinator

- Drive and move box trucks (Class 3-7) to and from dock doors and staging zones based on dispatch schedules and dock assignments.
- Perform walkaround checks to ensure truck readiness and report any visible issues.
- Use load tender emails and dock assignments to plan truck movement throughout the shift.
- Coordinate closely with dispatch, drivers, and warehouse personnel to ensure efficient truck flow and coverage.
- Enter truck activity, dock status, and load completion data into planning logs or internal tools.
- Support planning for 20+ daily loads by organizing shift resources and staging.
- Assist with shift handovers, noting key updates and any delays or exceptions.
- Identify and communicate any issues affecting route readiness or loading timelines.
- Valid AZ or DZ license required
- 2+ years of experience in transportation, logistics, or yard coordination.
- Comfortable driving box trucks in a busy yard (no shunt truck used)
- Strong communication and time management skills.
- Able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Flexible availability for varying shift durations and occasional weekend coverage.
