
Resource Manager (Total Waste)

- Identifies and characterizes wastes.
- This may include preparing containers for proper TDG shipment
- This may consist of preparing and signing shipping paperwork, including manifests and or bill of ladings for all waste shipments.
- Coordinates scheduling and pickup of waste within Veolia and with third-party providers
- Coordinates the procurement of necessary waste containers
- Communicates with clients, subcontractors and supervisors any changes or discrepancies in contract and/or subcontract requirements
- Ensures that contract and/or subcontract requirements are being met and/or exceeded
- Analyzes financial performance of contracts and provides written reports
- Coordinates Client “in-plant” waste management systems
- Samples and prepares waste material samples for analysis.
- Tracks manifests, bill of ladings and certificates of destruction returned in 35 days, matches documents and maintains files.
- Monitor activities, track waste and cost data and prepare comprehensive reports. Including providing data to the customer tracking database as required by the client
- Provide/Analyze baseline reconciliation as required per contract or more often if needed to manage discrepancies.
- Assist with the preparation and presentation of the annual budget and or quarterly review meetings.
- Performs and documents waste accumulation area inspections.
- Develop and implement plans and projects focusing on reducing, reusing and recycling waste generated by manufacturing, pollution control and maintenance operations.
- Analyzes costs/benefits of pollution prevention program
- General knowledge of ISO Standards, Standard Operating Procedures and Quality Management Systems
- Continually evaluates markets and third-party recyclers to ensure the customer receives the greatest value for commodity by-products.
- Support management systems & deliverables focusing on federal and local regulatory compliance standards as well as the plant's Environmental Management policies and procedures dealing with the proper management of waste and the prevention of pollution
- Other duties as assigned
- College/University degree preferred- in Environmental and/or Chemistry;
- 5-10 years of work experience in a related field, such as environmental services;
- Knowledge of Ministry Of Environment Regulations;
- Knowledge of the Transportation of Dangerous Goods Act;
- Experience in completing waste characterization, including sampling, as an asset.
- Great communication;
- Autonomy and initiative;
- Ability to prioritize, organize and multi-task;
- Experience with spreadsheets (MS and Google)
- Professional attitude oriented towards customer satisfaction;
- Dynamic interpersonal skills;
- Ability to persuade and communicate ideas.
- G Driver's license with clean abstract
- Frequent travel to client and or vendor sites - up to 50%
- Occasionally lift, push or pull up to 30 lbs
- Able to sit periodically and for extended periods, climb ladders/stairs, reach below knees and above shoulders, kneel
