- Coordination and creation of external and internal communications (including executive/leadership) products and projects.
- Research and draft construction notices and reports on projected construction site impacts on the community and potential mitigations.
- Assist with event planning/coordination including site walks and community walks.
- Assist with special projects' coordination/support.
- Assist with or manage department tracking, dashboards and procurement needs.
- Assist with tracking/polling/survey coordination.
- Research, write and edit engaging, informative and inspiring content for publication.
- Work closely with various business units to ensure a variety of content is captured and assessed.
- Participate in meetings and presentations to discuss public concerns and how they can be resolved.
- Participate in the construction and risk assessment review process, in conjunction with construction project teams, to identify potential construction impacts to third parties, develop appropriate mitigation strategies and ways to communicate them to the public proactively and reactively as needed, such as construction notices, presentations, newsletters, brochures, news stories, letters, etc.
- Attend public information events as needed to represent the project and answer questions about it.
- Respond to and resolve community problems/issues with on-site construction activities. This may include matters relating to property access, pedestrian safety, restoration, parking, signage, noise, dust/dirt, etc.
- At least 1 year of experience as a Communications Coordinator.
- Post-secondary education in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, English or Political Science or an equivalent combination of relevant technical training and experience.
- Exceptional written/oral communications skills.
- Ability to create positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Highly organized with demonstrated ability to plan and execute multiple priorities with tight deadlines and meticulous attention to detail.
- Strong problem solving, planning and consulting skills.
- Strong political acuity and social awareness of community, local business and government organizations.
- Fluent in Microsoft Office: PowerPoint, Word, Excel, SharePoint.
- Digital / Social media savvy is an asset.
- Knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud apps; experience in Adobe Illustrator/InDesign is an asset.
