We’re a fast-growing team of 50+ employees, composed of innovative and engaged individuals working collaboratively to deliver a unique digital home buying experience.The Role:The Controller will oversee the company’s financial operations and lead the accounting function, ensuring accurate reporting, compliance, and effective internal controls. This role will manage the month-end close process, budgeting and forecasting cycles, and provide financial insights to senior leadership. The Controller will act as the primary liaison with external partners, and the parent company, and will play a key role in scaling finance processes to support growth.nd support organizational growth.What You'll Be Doing:
  • Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with IFRS/GAAP.
  • Lead the month-end and quarter-end close processes, ensuring timeliness, accuracy, and continuous improvement.
  • Manage the budgeting and forecasting process, including preparation of budget-to-actual analyses.
  • Provide financial insights and recommendations to senior leadership for strategic decision-making.
  • Oversee cash management, working capital analysis, and treasury functions.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
  • Act as primary liaison with, tax advisors, lenders, and the parent company.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory and reporting requirements.
  • Mentor and develop accounting staff, providing leadership and guidance.
  • Support system and process improvements to enable scalability and efficiency.
What You Bring:
  • 7+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience, with at least 2+ years in a leadership or supervisory role.
CPA designation required. * Strong technical accounting knowledge (IFRS/GAAP) and experience with financial statement preparation.
  • Demonstrated experience managing budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
  • Strong systems knowledge (ERP experience, Workday an asset).
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and thrive in a high-growth environment.
