We are seeking an experienced Network & Security Engineer for our client in the Manufacturing Industry.Our Client:A North American leader in integrated piping product design and manufacturing. Renowned for their extensive product range and commitment to quality, they're seeking a talented Network and Security Engineer to join their growing team in Oakville or Montreal (hybrid work environment, 2x in office per week).About the Role:In this role, you will play a pivotal role in safeguarding the company's critical IT infrastructure and ensuring seamless network operations. You'll leverage your expertise in network & security best practices to develop, implement, and manage robust network & security solutions that are resilient and protect against cyber threats.Responsibilities
  • Design, implement, and maintain secure network architecture for optimal performance and scalability
  • Configure and administer routers, switches and access points
  • Configure and administer firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), and other security tools
  • Conduct regular vulnerability assessments to identify and mitigate security risks
  • Monitor network activity for suspicious behavior
  • Manage user access controls and establish security policies and procedures
  • Troubleshoot network connectivity issues and diagnose network performance problems
  • Stay up-to-date on emerging cyber threats and implement necessary security updates
  • Collaborate with IT teams to ensure network security aligns with business objectives
  • Document network configurations, security policies, and procedures
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 3-5+ years of experience in a network and security role
  • Experience with Cisco Routing & Switching, Cisco DNA, Cisco ISE, Cisco ACI
  • Proven experience in designing, implementing, and managing network & security solutions
  • Strong understanding of network security concepts (firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, etc.)
  • Experience with network & security tools and technologies (e.g. Checkpoint, Fortinet, Firewall Analyzer tool)
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, work independently, and meet deadlines
  • A valid Canadian work permit and authorization to work in Canada
  • Hybrid, 2 days per week in office
