- Promote, lead and execute a Safety-First culture for all employees, sub-contractors and consultants in compliance with the project's Environmental Health and Safety Program and occupational health and safety requirements.
- Promote safety in all activities and engage in safe work plan development, hazard assessments and mentorship with crews.
- Provide guidance to team members by leading safety meetings and inspections.
- Track and report project cost, quality control, resource requirements.
- Drive quality, efficiency, and productivity of work crews.
- Direct Foremen on productivity issues and monitor the work performance, working with the Foremen and crews to overcome challenges.
- Follow project plans and budget while ensuring the Foremen and crews perform to meet production goals.
- Assist the Foremen to translate drawings, specifications, and work requirements into a prioritized work plan.
- Understand the scope and sequencing of work, plan and prioritize the work, effectively redirect crews and equipment to assigned tasks and minimize downtime on sites.
- Work with the Construction Manager to identify material, equipment and labor resource requirements.
- Work with the Construction Manager and Foremen to periodically reassess established goals to meet forecasted production, schedules and budgets.
- Build and maintain a strong functional team through instruction, training, coaching and team building.
- Ensure work completed meets quality standards, that preparation and submittal of required reports, documentation and logs are completed.
- Oversee the approval of daily production records and reporting on work progress, these include:
- Daily quality control inspections and checklists.
- Record and report of violations or disciplinary actions.
- HSE inspections and reports.
- Project specific forms/inspections/tracking as required.
- Review and approval of daily field logs.
- Reviewing daily time cards and logs with the Project manager/Leads to ensure accuracy of phase codes and reported items.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a supervisory position in the construction industry with experience in heavy civil infrastructure projects.
- Experience with ATEC bridge construction means and methods including substructure formwork and falsework, girder erection and bridge deck formwork and falsework.
- Experience forming and building many types of retaining walls.
- Experience working on a large, multi-disciplinary teams is an asset.
- Experience managing a diverse group of Subcontractors.
- Experience coordinating with public project owners to comply with Local Agency and environmental issues and requirements.
- Exceptional ability to multitask in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
- Strong interpersonal, leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to communicate in a timely and effective manner with the public and project stakeholders.
- Proficient computer skills in MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
- Must have a valid Driver's License.
