- Lead the integrated purchasing and logistics team, providing coaching, development, and performance management to ensure excellence in procurement, transportation, and service execution.
- Supervise day-to-day execution of purchasing and logistics activities, ensuring alignment with cost, quality, delivery, and compliance targets.
- Manage a portfolio of key or strategic suppliers, including negotiating terms, purchasing stock codes, and ensuring delivery and service expectations are met.
- Oversee purchase order accuracy and follow-up, transportation coordination, customs documentation, and shipment tracking to ensure smooth end-to-end flow of goods.
- Ensure all procurement and logistics activities comply with internal policies and external regulations, including customs and trade compliance requirements.
- Work with the Strategic Sourcing & Cost Lead to identify cost-saving opportunities, support vendor strategy execution, and drive initiatives through effective project management and day-to-day action.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with planning, operations, sales, and finance to align inventory levels, shipment timing, and vendor performance with business goals.
- Monitor and report on key performance indicators and take corrective actions when needed.
- Maintain accurate ERP and logistics system data, including vendor/carrier profiles, lead times, pricing, and documentation.
- Approve purchase orders and freight invoices within delegated authority and ensure accuracy and alignment with business needs.
- Identify and implement process improvements that reduce costs, eliminate inefficiencies, and support a high-performing supply chain.
- Develop and present reports, recommendations, and insights to the Director of Supply Chain on strategy, performance, and risk mitigation.
- Foster a collaborative, service-oriented culture within the team that supports internal stakeholders and drives cross-functional success.
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 5+ years of progressive experience in purchasing or procurement, with at least 2 years in a management, supervisory or lead role.
- Professional certification (e.g., APICS, CPIM, CPSM) considered an asset.
- Proven leadership and coaching skills with the ability to develop and motivate a team.
- Strong understanding of purchasing practices, vendor negotiation, and ERP systems (Syspro preferred).
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, results-driven environment.
