Value Partners is currently registered as an investment fund manager, portfolio manager and exempt market dealer.Job DescriptionThis is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic, inclusive team aimed at shaping the future of HR at Value Partners Investments. Reporting to the Director of HR, the HR Generalist will assist in a variety of aspects related to the day-to-day HR-related tasks of the company while also supporting our organization in ensuring smooth and efficient business operations. The successful candidate will provide full lifecycle HR support to Department leaders at the Manager level and below. The position will work closely with other key groups in the organization and have a well-rounded knowledge on Talent Acquisition, Learning & Development, Talent Management, Compensation, HRIS, Payroll & Benefits to deliver high quality, seamlessly integrated operational HR support for the business, the employees, and the managers.Key ResponsibilitiesExpectations:
  • Support end-to-end recruitment and selection processes.
  • Assist with onboarding and offboarding of employees.
  • Handle all administrative tasks for onboarding, new-hire orientations, and exit interviews, including data entry in human resource system and audits for accuracy and compliance.
  • Provide advice and support to managers in an advisory capacity regarding, employee issues, performance management and interpretation of HR policies, programs, and legislation.
  • Creates, maintains and audits personnel files to ensure compliance with applicable employment standards, legislation, and regulatory requirements.
  • Advises management in appropriate resolution of employee relations issues.
  • Responsible to help coach and guide managers on having performance conversations with employees.
  • Promote a positive workplace culture through engagement initiatives.
  • Responds to inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Assist in the communication, interpretation, and upkeep of employee handbook, employee directory, and organizational chart, and contribute to policy development.
  • Monitor employee climate to identify issues/trends and develop recommendations for problem solving with business units, as appropriate. Develop solutions to implement with the business.
  • Maintains familiarity with best practices to ensure employees are treated fairly.
  • Other miscellaneous duties and special projects as assigned.
QualificationsEducation & Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Human Resources or related field
  • 2 - 4 years’ experience in a human resources role
  • Thorough knowledge of employment standards legislation and regulations
  • A combination of education and experience will be considered.
Skills & Abilities:
  • Exceptional attention to detail, communication & writing ability, and organizational skills
  • Advanced proficiency and working knowledge/experience with Microsoft Office products (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Strong time-management and people skills, high degree of flexibility, and excellent multitasking ability
  • Proven analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills
  • Demonstrated experience managing detailed projects and improving processes.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with and between individuals from diverse cultures and backgrounds
  • Possess organizational skills to handle numerous tasks simultaneously with accuracy
  • Strong Commitment to teamwork with the ability to work collaboratively in a team-based organization
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic, and often stressful environment
