This position will be based out of our Mississauga branch, reporting to the Regional Health & Safety Manager. The chosen candidate will be responsible for supporting the Ontario region, which includes job sites in the GTA and surrounding areas. Frequent travel will be required.What We OfferBeautiful work environment with high ceilings and tons of natural sunlight!In-house cafeteria and gymFree parkingCompetitive wagesGreat environment where our motto is “Flynn Family Winning Together”!On-going career development programs through our in-house Flynn University and eLearning coursesA Day In The LifeManage the safety requirements of operational construction sites and equipmentConduct safety evaluations of Flynn project sites using documentation and standardized processesEnsure that sub-contractors adhere to required safety standards in keeping with Flynn policy/legislationIdentifying potential risks and safety hazards during a project through involvement throughout the job life cycle (estimate,pre-mobilization, construction and autopsy)Performing accident and incident investigations as per the company's health and safety programsMaintain a conducive working relationship with all management, superintendents, project managers through education and giving practical on site application optionsAssisting with the communication and implementation of the company's claims management and return to work programsBe proactive in recommending changes to improve the safety programsParticipate in the development and implementation of safety training programsConducting new worker safety orientations and other required training programs as neededReport writing and maintaining of all required documentationAttending and facilitating monthly safety committee meetings as requiredFrequent visits to job sites and branches in the GTA and surrounding areas, possible travel to Sudbury when required.What We Are SeekingFormal education and/or training in Environmental/Occupational Health and Safety, NCSO or equivalent experienceMinimum 1-3 years' experience in a safety role within a construction environmentExperience working in the ICI construction industry, specifically dealing with Building envelope is considered an assetExperience with WSIB and injury management an assetKnowledge of the COR process is considered a strong assetGood knowledge of Working at Heights legislationKnowledge and practical experience in accident investigationStrong administrative and organizational skillsComputer literate in Windows applications; Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)Ability to work with minimal supervisionTeam attitude with a willingness to learnValid driver's license requiredFlynn Group of Companies is the leading trade contractor in North America that works on virtually every aspect of a building's outer layer, including Roofing, Glazing, Waterproofing, and Architectural Metals.
