Job Description:We are looking for a meticulous Payroll Administrator to manage and execute payroll operations for our team in Cambridge, Ontario. This role involves processing bi-weekly payroll, ensuring accuracy in employee payments, and maintaining compliance with union agreements and government regulations.   • Process and administer bi-weekly payroll for union employees, including data entry, verification of hours, and allocation checks.
  • Handle employee expense submissions and prepare detailed reports for management review.
  • Maintain and update confidential employee records, ensuring compliance with company policies.
  • Perform calculations for payroll adjustments, including travel allowances, retroactive payments, and other applicable changes.
  • Respond promptly to inquiries from government agencies, ensuring clear and precise communication.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with job site teams to support payroll operations.
  • Update and manage the employee tracking system to ensure accurate and timely information.
  • Provide interdepartmental support as needed, contributing to overall organizational efficiency.
  • Stay informed about and apply all relevant union agreements to payroll processing.
  • Actively support the company's Health & Safety program by meeting annual goals and objectives.
Requirements:
  • A minimum of 3= years of experience in Canadian payroll administration.
  • College diploma in finance, payroll, or a related field, or equivalent relevant skills.
  • Proficiency in accounting software systems, with experience in payroll systems.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities, with the capacity to work independently or collaboratively.
  • Familiarity with unionized payroll processes and agreements.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage full-cycle payroll for up to 500 employees.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skill
