
Payroll Administrator

- Process and administer bi-weekly payroll for union employees, including data entry, verification of hours, and allocation checks.
- Handle employee expense submissions and prepare detailed reports for management review.
- Maintain and update confidential employee records, ensuring compliance with company policies.
- Perform calculations for payroll adjustments, including travel allowances, retroactive payments, and other applicable changes.
- Respond promptly to inquiries from government agencies, ensuring clear and precise communication.
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with job site teams to support payroll operations.
- Update and manage the employee tracking system to ensure accurate and timely information.
- Provide interdepartmental support as needed, contributing to overall organizational efficiency.
- Stay informed about and apply all relevant union agreements to payroll processing.
- Actively support the company's Health & Safety program by meeting annual goals and objectives.
- A minimum of 3= years of experience in Canadian payroll administration.
- College diploma in finance, payroll, or a related field, or equivalent relevant skills.
- Proficiency in accounting software systems, with experience in payroll systems.
- Strong skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities, with the capacity to work independently or collaboratively.
- Familiarity with unionized payroll processes and agreements.
- Demonstrated ability to manage full-cycle payroll for up to 500 employees.
