Manufacturing Engineering Specialist – Onsite PositionWe have a rewarding opportunity for a Manufacturing Engineering Specialist to join our world class facility in Ottawa, ONAs a key member of the Manufacturing Engineering Support team, you are responsible for developing, implementing, and sustaining production equipment programs, assembly documentation, and manufacturing processes used in the fabrication of complex electronic and electro-mechanical assemblies.You will play a critical part in ensuring efficient, high-quality production by supporting factory-wide initiatives related to production testing, material flow, process optimization, and statistical process control. Criteria such as the candidate’s qualifications and relevant experience, the scope of the specific position, as well as market and business considerations will be evaluated when extending an offer.​Your Challenge:Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineers to develop, document, and maintain assembly processes, routings, and work instructionsGenerate, validate, and maintain programs for electronic assembly and inspection equipmentSupport the introduction and qualification of new equipment, tools, and manufacturing processesPartner with NPI and Design Engineering teams to ensure smooth transition of new products into productionRecommend tooling, fixturing, and process improvements for both new and existing productsDesign and develop fixtures to support process changes, efficiency improvements, and quality enhancementsProvide hands-on training and technical support to manufacturing and test operatorsAssist in troubleshooting production issues and implementing corrective actionsAnalyze production data using statistical and analytical tools to identify trends and drive process improvementsSupport material control, product flow optimization, and lean manufacturing initiativesMaintain and manage manufacturing data, routings, and documentation within MES and ERP systemsEnsure compliance with manufacturing standards, specifications, and quality requirementsWhat You Bring:Strong mechanical aptitude and technical problem-solving abilitiesSolid understanding of electronic manufacturing processes and test technologiesProficiency in data analysis, statistical methods, and trend identificationStrong analytical thinking, judgment, and decision-making skillsExperience with manufacturing equipment programming and process optimizationHands-on experience with MES systems, specifically FactoryLogixWorking knowledge of ERP systems, preferably SAPFamiliarity with CAD software and engineering toolsKnowledge of automation systems and manufacturing technologiesExcellent verbal and written communication skillsStrong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across teamsAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced production environmentEducation & Experiences:Technician or Technologist Diploma in Engineering (Manufacturing, Electrical, Mechanical, or related field), or equivalent experience3–5 years of experience in an electronic or electro-mechanical manufacturing environmentProven experience working with FactoryLogix MES and SAP ERP systemsHands-on experience with SMT, inspection systems, and production equipment programming preferredExperience supporting New Product Introduction (NPI) is an assetWho We Are:At our world-class manufacturing and design facility in Ottawa, Ontario, we manufacture rugged products optimized for high-mix, high quality and small batch sizes typical of military requirements.
