Adecco is currently hiring a System Administrator for a full-time contract opportunity based in Ottawa, ON. This is a long-term position requiring an enhanced level of security clearance. It is ideal for a highly experienced IT infrastructure professional with deep expertise in enterprise systems, virtualization, and data centre operations.This role supports complex enterprise environments, including servers, storage systems, virtualization platforms, cloud infrastructure, and enterprise applications. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining, optimizing, and supporting mission-critical systems within a large-scale technical environment.Pay Rate: $75,000 - $115,000Location: Ottawa, ONSchedule: Full-time, variable schedule within Monday to Friday (7:00 AM - 5:00 PM, 8-hour shifts)Contract: 3-year contractSecurity Clearance: Secret level clearance required (mandatory)ResponsibilitiesSupport enterprise data centre operations, including servers, virtualization, storage systems, and network infrastructureInstall, configure, maintain, and upgrade Windows and Linux operating systems, including Active Directory and Group Policy environmentsAdminister and support virtualization platforms and virtual server environmentsManage and maintain enterprise storage, backup, and archival systemsSupport Microsoft SCCM/SCOM for software deployment, patching, and system monitoringInstall, configure, and maintain Exchange Server environmentsPerform system troubleshooting and resolve technical issues by replicating and diagnosing end-user problemsExecute backup, replication, and disaster recovery procedures, including failover testingMonitor system performance and recommend improvements for optimizationAdminister GIS and enterprise applications including ArcGIS and SQL Server environmentsConfigure and maintain network devices including routers, switches, and security appliancesDevelop and maintain technical documentation, system build guides, and architecture diagramsConduct system testing and produce detailed results and reportsPrepare and deliver technical presentations and demonstrations when requiredRequirementsDegree or Diploma in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent educationMinimum 10 years of experience as a System Administrator within the last 15 yearsExtensive experience with virtualization, enterprise operating systems, and database/server administrationStrong background in data centre infrastructure including storage, servers, and networking hardwareHands-on experience with Active Directory, Group Policy, and enterprise Windows environmentsProven experience in large-scale enterprise or government IT environmentsExperience with disaster recovery planning and executionRelevant certifications such as MCSE, MCP, or ITIL are requiredStrong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skillsAbility to work independently within secure and regulated environmentsWhy This RoleLong-term 3-year contract opportunityWork on large-scale enterprise systems in a highly secure environmentExposure to complex infrastructure and mission-critical systemsOpportunity to work with advanced virtualization, storage, and network technologiesInterested in this position?
