- Assist in preparing work areas, including setting forms, installing rebar, and placing reinforcement as directed.
- Place, spread, and level concrete using a variety of hand and power tools (e.g., screeds, trowels, floats).
- Perform finishing operations such as edging, jointing, troweling, brooming, and stamping to achieve specified textures and results.
- Operate power trowels and other finishing equipment safely and effectively.
- Monitor concrete curing conditions and apply curing compounds as required.
- Perform patching, grinding, and surface repairs to meet quality standards.
- Assist with demolition, form stripping, site cleanup, and material handling as needed.
- Follow all safety protocols, including PPE requirements, hazard identification, and safe tool operation.
- Work collaboratively with foremen, carpenters, labourers, and other trades to support efficient workflow.
- Maintain tools and equipment in clean, safe working condition.

- High School diploma
- Experience in concrete placement and finishing (hand and machine methods).
- Strong understanding of concrete behaviour, cure times, and finishing techniques.
- Ability to read and work from drawings, layouts, and verbal instruction.
- Physical ability to lift heavy materials, work on knees for extended periods, and operate in various weather conditions.
- Strong work ethic, punctuality, and commitment to quality craftsmanship.
- Early mornings, overtime, and weekend work may be required depending on schedule.
- Must be able to work safely around heavy equipment and active site operations.
- Valid safety certifications (e.g., CSTS, WHMIS, First Aid) are an asset.
