Job Type: Full-Time | On-SiteWe are currently seeking a Manual Machinist (Lathe) to join a busy manufacturing and machine shop environment. In this role, you will be responsible for producing custom machined parts using manual lathes and other rotating equipment, while ensuring high levels of precision and quality.This position requires someone who can read engineering drawings, work to tight tolerances, and use precision measuring tools. The successful candidate will also be cross-trained in multiple machining tasks and departments to support overall production operations.Key Responsibilities
Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, charts, and technical tables
Manufacture custom machined parts using manual lathes and other rotating equipment
Set up, operate, and maintain conventional machine tools
Fit and assemble machine components to close tolerances
Compute dimensions and tolerances and lay out workpieces for machining
Verify dimensions of machined parts using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers and calipers
Inspect finished products to ensure accuracy and conformance to specifications
Maintain, repair, and calibrate precision measuring instruments
Document and report deviations from specifications or tolerances
Maintain inspection records and complete inspection reports
Work across multiple departments and support various machining tasks as required
Maintain clean and organized work areas and follow all safety proceduresMust-Have Requirements
Experience operating manual lathes
Ability to read and use precision measuring instruments, including:
Vernier calipers
Outside micrometers
Inside micrometers
Bore gauges
Measuring scales
Ability to read and understand technical drawings and blueprints
Experience, Education & Skills
College diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
2-3 years of machine shop or manufacturing experience
Experience working with machinery and conventional machining equipment
Strong written and verbal English communication skills
Basic computer skills and familiarity with manufacturing documentation
Strong attention to detail and quality standards
Clear criminal record and references from previous employersWork Environment
