- In collaboration with WBTH Flow Manager, oversees and monitors patient flow-admissions, discharges, and transfers
- Ensuring appropriate staffing by collaborating with the Workforce Coordinator (WFC) and Floor Manager
- Maintaining high standards of patient care and addressing issues as they arise
- Supporting communication among all members of the health care team (including acting as a liaison between front line team members and the MRHCP)
- Providing mentorship, coaching, and guidance to nursing staff
- Upholding safety and quality standards to promote a safe care environment
- Directs and mentors staff, including communicating job expectations and providing input to Nursing Managers on staff performance
- Collaborates with Most Responsible Health Care Providers (MRHCPs) and multidisciplinary professional staff to implement patient care
- Establishes a compassionate environment by providing emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients, friends, and families
- Meet/greet new patients and families to welcome/orientate them to the floor, ensure they understand the role of transitional health in supporting them to return home
- Provides clinical oversight and shares expertise through coaching, mentoring and providing feedback
- Acts as the go to resource for clinical questions and problem solving
- Ensures policies, procedures, and standards of care are being followed
- Leads Safety and Patient Rounds
- Communicates changes in patient status, workflow issues, and unit need
- A Bachelor of Science in Nursing and are currently registered with the Provincial Association of Registered Nurses
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a diverse clinical setting
- Previous experience in a comparable role is considered an asset
- Education in leadership is considered an asset
- Experience working with adult patient populations is considered an asset
- Prior supervisory experience is considered an asset
- Ability to provide a clear criminal record and vulnerable sector check upon hire
