You'll be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining a comprehensive quality assurance program that supports critical construction processes and upholds the highest standards.Your work will involve coordinating and participating in quality assurance checks, as well as leading and approving engineering design reviews. You'll review pre-design submissions and formwork drawings, offering thoughtful input and recommendations. While on-site, you'll document daily rehabilitation and construction activities, ensuring accurate reporting and continuous improvement.Using the Structure Maintenance Database, you'll analyze inspection data and develop detailed technical work orders to identify and prioritize necessary repairs. You'll organize site supervision and inspection schedules, arrange external testing of materials such as concrete, steel, and core samples, and monitor quality control throughout the construction process.Collaboration will be key, as you'll liaise with operations staff, engineering and maintenance teams, municipalities, utility companies, and other public agencies and regulatory bodies to ensure smooth coordination and compliance across all aspects of the project.As a TTC employee you are responsible for treating passengers and/or employees with respect and dignity and ensuring the needs of passengers or employees with disabilities are accommodated and/or addressed (if applicable and within their area of responsibility) in accordance with the Ontario Human Rights Code and Related Orders so that they can fully benefit from the TTC as a service provider and an employer and you will also be participating in the TTC Customer Service Ambassador Program.What Skills Do You Bring?

- You are a registered as a Professional Engineer in the Province of Ontario is required. Candidates eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer in the Province of Ontario will be considered. Job title and pay will be commensurate with experience.
- You have a University Degree in Civil Engineering along with several years of related experience in medium to heavy construction projects in an urban environment.
- It calls for expertise in rehabilitation techniques for concrete and structural steel, all while ensuring compliance with key federal and provincial standards like the National and Ontario Building Codes, the Canadian Highway and Bridge Design Code, and essential safety regulations such as the Occupational Health & Safety Act and WHMIS.
- A solid grasp of construction law, contract administration, inspection protocols, and claims management is highly valued.
- Hands-on experience in construction inspection and quality assurance will set you up for success, and your advanced computer skills will be crucial in navigating the software tools that support this work.
