Your RoleAs a Welder at SMS Equipment, you’ll be responsible for safely performing welding repairs, fabrication, and assembly on Komatsu and other heavy industrial equipment. In this role, you will:
Repair and fabricate a variety of heavy equipment
Follow directions from layouts, blueprints, and work orders
Customize mobile equipment and/or parts per customer requirements
Conduct failure analysis and develop repair processes with the Service Manager
Provide welding support in the shop and occasionally in the field
Work safely in challenging environments with minimal supervision
What You BringThe ideal candidate will be a Journeyperson Welder with:
Strong work ethic, safety-first mindset, and organizational skills
Ability to read blueprints/layouts and follow detailed work orders
Effective interpersonal skills with the ability to work with diverse teams
Knowledge of heavy equipment maintenance and repair (Komatsu experience an asset)
Interprovincial Red Seal (asset)
Bilingual in English and French (asset)
Valid Class 5 Driver’s License
