DescriptionElectro-Mechanical Maintenance TechnicianBrampton, ONJOB SUMMARY:Electro-mechanical Maintenance technician will be responsible for electrical and mechanical repairs to manufacturing equipment and other company equipment in all divisions.JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Conduct electrical and mechanical repairs on CNC machines, including horizontal mills and lathes.
  • Conduct electrical and mechanical repairs on saws, conveyors, hoists and other capital equipment in all divisions.
  • Support manufacturing operations in trouble shooting electrical repairs.
  • Participate and complete preventative maintenance tasks within the company Preventative Maintenance Program
  • Participate in company projects related to new or modified equipment involving installation, design and repair
  • Read blueprints, electrical schematics and drawings to determine how to repair equipment.
  • Provide specification or source repair components for machinery or electrical repairs.
  • Support, participate and utilize all Lean Manufacturing initiatives, FEM program and ISO requirements
  • Adhere to company safety programs including Lockout/Tagout, zero mechanical state for equipment, fall protection equipment, ladder, lift equipment regulations and confined space requirements under OSHA.
  • Utilize all electrical company safety practices and policies in repairing company equipment.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by the Manager.
SAFETY EQUIPMENT REQUIREMENT:The use of appropriate safety equipment described below is a condition of employment and not one of choice. Safety equipment that must be worn while performing job responsibilities is as follows:
  • Gloves, Hearing protection, Safety glasses and or face shields
  • Safety harnesses for fall protection
  • Safety shoes
  • Flame retardant uniform
EDUCATION AND SKILL REQUIREMENT:
  • Minimum of 3-years experience in Electrical and mechanical repairs on CNC machines, PLC is an asset.
  • Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics and ability to trace PLC software preferred.
  • Knowledge of Ontario Electrical Code and possession of Ontario Electrical License an asset
  • Able to read blueprints, electrical schematics, mechanical drawings
  • Ability to use measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and Vernier's
  • Good communication skills, to converse with all levels of company employees, suppliers and contractors
  • Solid organization skills and complete maintenance tasks with minimal supervision
  • Good computer skills to communicate with suppliers or source required repair components
