- Oversee the receipt, inspection, sorting, and processing of waste materials, ensuring efficient and compliant operations.
- Responsible for the operations of equipment and tools at a receiving facility.
- Inspecting, sorting, and processing various types of waste materials, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and safety standards.
- Product management in the processing and storage stages.
- Continuously look for ways to improve product management at the facility.
- Utilize resources to fulfill contract compliance and high customer satisfaction.
- Ensure daily goals are met utilizing a hands-on approach through the effective management of employees.
- Continually review operations to ensure optimal efficiency and allocation of resources.
- Work closely with other operational stakeholders to ensure daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance and preventative maintenance tasks and goals are achieved.
- Grow profitability by executing the Company’s business plans and strategies.
- P&L responsibility including the development and achievement of budgetary goals to ensure the long-term viability of the operation.
- Collaborate and foster a productive relationship with the local union representatives.
- Maintain a culture of safety by implementing and monitoring a safety management program to ensure a safe and productive work environment for all employees.
- Understand and work within the Ministry of Environment guidelines and the Environmental Compliance Approval.
- Engineering/Science degree or post secondary education in related field such as business management, Operations Management, or environmental or a combination of any is a plus.
- 2-5 years of management experience, in a waste transfer/processing facility is an asset.
- Hands on experience working in a unionized environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent inventory management and record keeping skills.
- A strong work ethic and hands-on approach and proven people management skills.
- Strong attention to detail and drive to achieve continual improvement.
- Ability to work to deadlines and to prioritise workload.
- Strong project management skills.
- Strong track record of improving performance at a brewery, winery or distillery or other related liquid processing is preferred.
- Previous use of analytical tools and software relating to liquid quality is preferred.
