- Sound theological/religious studies preparation with an undergraduate degree or equivalent obtained from a recognized theological college required
- Master's degree in Theology preferred
- Basic Supervised Pastoral Education (SPE)
- A minimum of two additional units of Advanced SPE with Clinical Pastoral
- Education (CPE) preferred. Training needs to be provided by an accredited Canadian Association for Spiritual Care training facility or its equivalent
- Willingness to seek Specialist standing with CASC or equivalent professional certification preferred
- Minimum of one year experience in Hospice Palliative Care with a strong knowledge and understanding of the spiritual and psychosocial needs of patients and families at end of life.
- Experience in working as a part of an Interdisciplinary Team
- Experience and working knowledge of Microsoft and other technology base programs (Zoom, Teams)
- Skilled in providing existential, spiritual, & religious patient care across beliefs, cultural perspectives & practices
- Experience in grief and bereavement care
- Experience with Ethics and Ethical decision-making frameworks
- Commitment to continuous learning by actively fostering own spiritual care and development, attending and actively participating in education opportunities
- Ability to work effectively in an emotionally demanding environment
- Exceptional organizational skills with an ability to pivot to meet the needs of the residents or the unit
- Ability to manage multiple priorities
- Ability to provide an impactful multi-faith experience
- Ability to comprehend and communicate effectively in English
- Excellent observation and problem-solving skills
- The successful candidate will rely on accomplished interpersonal communication, prioritization & self-awareness skills to liaise with faith leaders, coordinate site events & navigate a constantly changing caseload
- Your responsibilities will involve supporting patients & families in illness adjustment, end-of-life care & family dynamics.
