- Supervise and lead a team of IVM crew leads, ensuring that tasks are performed efficiently, safely, and according to established procedures.
- Ensure accurate completion of administrative duties such as payroll tracking, production tracking, equipment inspection and maintenance, drills, safety documents, and production reports.
- Plan daily and weekly logistics for the assigned teams before the work begins and inspect your team’s work in conjunction with contract requirements.
- Work with crew on sites daily and assist crews with daily operations.
- Motivate and inspire those on your team to perform to their fullest potential.
- Collaborate with Project Manager to oversee contract safety, production, and quality.
- Assist Project Manager in keeping projects within the allotted budget.
- Oversee completion of daily field tasks.
- Ability to complete job duties in physically strenuous and varying terrains.
- Other duties as required.
- 3-4 years’ experience in an Integrated Vegetation Management role.
- A Certificate, Diploma or Degree in Natural Resources, Forestry or Environmental Science would be considered an asset.
- Ability to identify invasive plants is considered an asset.
- B.C Pesticide Applicator Certification (5 year), or provincial equivalent.
- Ability to identify invasive plants is considered an asset.
- Valid 5 BC Class 5 Driver’s License and a current Driver’s Abstract.
- Experience driving pick-up trucks pulling ball-hitch trailers, ATVs, or other offroad vehicles.
- Previous experience in compliance and implementation of safety standards.
- Strong proficiency in using a chainsaw (preferred)
- Able to work outside and in varied weather conditions.
- Physically fit to work and walk in a rough terrain area.
- Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- The ability to work away from home for scheduled periods of time.
- B.C. Intermediate or Advanced First Aid certification, or equivalent, is considered an asset.
- Pre-employment drug testing required for safety sensitive positions.
