- Planning and execution of communications and the marketing strategy for the Centre, including the promotion of both internal BCDC-hosted events as well as external events (i.e. employer events on and off campus).
- Developing and maintaining an engaging, on-brand social media presence for the Centre on platforms such as Instagram and LinkedIn, including the creation of graphics and marketing materials.
- Planning, coordination and vendor management for Career Centre events, including job fairs, employer info sessions and workshops.
- Managing email marketing campaigns, including a bi-weekly newsletter.
- Managing day-to-day office operations, including guiding and monitoring workload for co-op student(s).
- Responding to email, phone and walk-in inquiries.
- Booking advising appointments, interview spaces and meeting rooms.
- Financial administration tasks for the BCDC, including preparing purchase orders, payment of invoices, payment requisitions and reconciling month-end statements.
- Graduation from a two (2) year community college program along with a minimum of one (1) year of previous related experience. A combination of related education and experience may be considered.
- Candidates must have excellent verbal and written communication, customer service, and organization skills in addition to a strong ability to prioritize and multitask.
- The successful candidate must have a strong ability to manage time-sensitive tasks, maintain accuracy, and be efficient in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions.
- Demonstrated ability to work harmoniously with a variety of groups under tight deadlines; maintain a high level of confidentiality and discretion, and use tact to deal with confidential and sensitive matters.
- An understanding of academic programs, university policies and procedures, compliance with the brand guidelines and AODA requirements, and administrative systems will be considered an asset.
- The incumbent must have some knowledge of social media platforms (Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, etc.) and graphical software (e.g. Canva). The successful candidate will have awareness of social media tools and trends and how they can be leveraged to increase engagement for both a student and employer audience.
- Strong computer skills, including advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) is essential. Experience with D2L Brightspace course-building tools and project management software (i.e., Asana) is considered an asset.
