Prepare regular monthly and ad-hoc journal entries for responsible business units to ensure timely and accurate reporting
Assist in the preparation of consolidated internal and external financial statements
Reconcile complex balance sheet accounts and investigate discrepancies
Assist in reviewing significant variances from budget to actual
Prepare and file quarterly regulatory reporting requirements, as necessary
Assist in certain special projects as part of the Company's continuous improvement initiatives
Perform monthly and ad-hoc analysis and reporting to support Finance Management and other departments
Support the annual and interim external audit and review process

The expected salary range for this position will be impacted by factors such as the successful candidate's skills, experience and working location, as well as the specific position's business line, scope and level. Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (i.e. Accounting)
Pursuing CPA designation is considered an asset
3-5 years of significant accounting experience
Proficient in IFRS Accounting standards
Strong preference for Insurance accounting and IFRS 17 experience
Strong understanding of accounting systems and experience with SAP is an asset
Detail-oriented approach with demonstrated analytical skills
Assertive self-starter with the ability to work independently and efficiently with minimal supervision
Excellent organizational skills, and ability to work under pressure and meet multiple tight deadlines
Intermediate knowledge of Excel
