Our client, a large, multi-site non-profit organisation in the childcare and community services sector, is seeking a hands-on and experienced Finance Manager (Contract – approximately 6 months) with a possibility of extension. This role is a backfill for a senior leader on leave and requires a seasoned professional who can quickly step in, provide leadership, and ensure continuity across the finance function. If you are a self-motivated finance leader with strong technical expertise, a passion for accuracy, and the ability to quickly adapt, this could be an excellent opportunity.
This is an opportunity to leverage your expertise in financial oversight, budgeting, and team leadership while supporting a collaborative and mission-driven organisation during a key transition period. You will play a critical role in maintaining financial integrity, guiding a dedicated team, and contributing to ongoing operational effectiveness.

Responsibilities:
  • Oversee day-to-day finance operations, including financial reporting and controls
  • Lead budgeting and forecasting processes
  • Review financial statements, P&L, and investment reporting for accuracy and completeness
  • Provide leadership, direction, and support to two team leads (analytics and billing/payables/revenue)
  • Maintain hands-on involvement to ensure quality control across outputs
  • Support decision-making by providing financial insights to senior leadership
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and funding requirements
  • Foster a collaborative and high-performing team environment
  • Provide stability and leadership during a period of organizational transition
Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in a Finance Manager or senior finance leadership role
  • Strong technical accounting and financial analysis skills
  • Demonstrated ability to “hit the ground running” with minimal onboarding
  • Experience with ERP systems (Microsoft Dynamics preferred)
  • Non-profit experience is an asset but not required
  • Comfortable working in a contract capacity
