Apply now and join our OEM Remanufacturing team!Job Description:Perform salvage techniques on various machines such as; Horizontal Lathes, Radial Arm Drills, Small or Large Milling Machines, and operation of CNC Equipment (Lathes and Mills)Maintain and clean equipment as requiredMaintain Caterpillar contamination control initiativesQualifications:Machinist Journeyperson ticket, or interprovincial Red Seal, is requiredPreference given to those who fall within the value stream & qualify as defined in Schedule CMultiple years’ working experience and competency in a crank, block salvage or machine shopExperience operating horizontal and vertical Lathes, Radial Arm Drills, Milling Machines, Surface Grinders, and Plate Sanding is preferredExperience/proficiency with CNC Mills and Lathes (reading and writing CNC programs) is preferredPortable Line Boring experience is preferredMust have accurate documentation and measuring skillsMust be able to understand salvage specifications and related technical documentation, including technical drawingsMust be able to communicate written and spoken English effectivelyAbility to regularly lift and handle material weighing up to 40 poundsA condition of employment is the ability to be fit tested and the ability to wear a respiratorCandidate must demonstrate the ability to work in a safe manner and comply in all aspects of the organizations policies and proceduresNote:This posting is for a static afternoon shift scheduled Monday – Thursday; 10 hours per dayAny future shift changes that may occur will be made in accordance with the terms and conditions of the Collective AgreementApplicants must apply with either an updated Professional Profile on Workday or attached resume to be consideredWill require successful completion of drug and alcohol testing, a criminal background check, and a medical assessmentHourly Rate: $53.05 / HourUnion Membership: This is a unionized position.
