To learn more about CMH, please visit our website at .Job DescriptionSalary$24.733 - 25.307ScheduleDays, Evenings, Nights, Weekends & HolidaysShift6 hrs / 8 hrsExpected Average Number of Hours: 37.5 biweekly ( not a guarantee of hours )As a key contributor to CMH’s ongoing focus on quality patient care, this role concentrates on transportation of patients and various supplies throughout the hospital. The successful incumbent will manage patient transfers and must demonstrate excellent communication and patient care skills as they work directly with clients. Responsibilities also include the movement of wheeled goods, transport of stat specimens and linen supplies. The successful candidate must have a strong ability to prioritize, multitask and have a proven track record delivering quality results. This position is to work all shifts, days, nights and evenings including weekends and holidays. The physical requirements of job include constant walking, halls and corridors, stairs, ramps, uneven surfaces, tight spaces, reaching, bending, squatting, kneeling, pushing and lifting of moderate to heavy weights. This position contributes to ensuring there is a safe environment for patients, staff and visitors.Posted hours do not constitute a guarantee that shifts will not be subject to change.Skills and Qualifications:Successful completion of secondary school required2 years of current experience as a Porter required * Knowledge of infection control standards and procedures requiredDemonstrated ability to frequently lift, walk, push, pull and stand is requiredPrevious experience in an environmental services program; specifically recent experience as a patient transportation position requiredBasic computer skills and knowledge of Meditech system modules is requiredCPR Certification is preferredStrong team playerExcellent communication skillsProven track record meeting schedules and deadlines with minimal supervisionExcellent organizational skillsDemonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis is requiredAs part of our commitment to the health and safety of our patients, staff and community from COVID-19, subject to any accommodation required by applicable human rights legislation, Cambridge Memorial Hospital requires that all staff have received all required doses of a COVID-19 vaccine approved by Health Canada.The successful external applicant is required to provide the applicable criminal record check, as requested by Human Resources, in accordance with federal and provincial legislation.
