
Public Sector Finance Training Lead

The Finance Training Lead will drive a financial literacy and budget training initiative within a major budget management transformation project. This role is focused on designing and delivering impactful training programs to support strategic financial accountability across the organization.Duties & ResponsibilitiesDesign and implement comprehensive training programs related to budgeting, forecasting, and financial systemsDevelop eLearning modules and in-person training content, including learner guides and job aidsConduct needs assessments and stakeholder engagement across a wide audience of budget managersDeliver training in both virtual and onsite formats, with an emphasis on practical system integrationContribute to organizational change initiatives by promoting financial transparency and accountabilityCore RequirementsDegree in Education, Public Administration, Finance, Organizational Development, or related fieldCertification in Instructional Design, Adult Education, or Learning & Development7-10+ years' experience designing and delivering training in multi-stakeholder environmentsProven experience in public sector finance and working with financial systems (ERP, budgeting, forecasting)Proficiency in e-learning tools such as Articulate 360Desired Skills & ExperienceFamiliarity with change management methodologies (e.g., PROSCI, ADKAR)Experience creating job aids, cheat sheets, and learner workbooksUnderstanding of adult learning theory and inclusive instructional designBackground in policy-driven or complex regulatory environmentsExperience with BC public sector budgeting cycles or financial accountability initiativesTerms
This is a 6-month contract with a strong likelihood of renewal. The role is primarily work from home, with onsite attendance required occasionally in Burnaby or Victoria, BC.
