The Ross family takes pride in providing compassionate, quality patient care.Department/Unit/Program DescriptionThe Stroke, Rehabilitation Unit is a 34 bed unit that includes 1 telemetry bed supported by a patient-centered multi-disciplinary team which respects patients' confidentiality, rights, and choices.Position SummaryThe Stroke, Rehabilitation and Allied team Unit Manager reports to the Director of Medicine, Dialysis and Post acute units and promotes, facilitates, and manages the unit environment in such a way that patients receive exceptional care. Exceptional care will be evidence based, safe, effective, efficient, and will provide a positive care experience for patients and families while admitted and transitioning home. The unit manager is a key part of the health care team providing leadership in the management of human fiscal resources. The unit manager will foster a cohesive and motivated team and serve as an ambassador for the team.Effective date February 9, 2026As the unit manager for the Stroke / Rehabilitation Unit and Allied health teams, you will be accountable for facilitating clinical excellence, leadership, and management leading to the delivery of patient centered, quality acute care. Your leadership demonstrates creativity, innovation, flexibility and professional knowledge suitable to the interdisciplinary environment. Working collaboratively with community providers, you will engage in key activities to promote positive public relations with patients, visitors, staff, physicians and volunteers.   • Active Registration in good standing with a professional college (e.g. CNO)
  • BScN or associated degree
  • Minimum five (5) years nursing experience in an acute care environment with three (3) years' recent supervisory or management experience
  • Demonstrated understanding of the hospital or personnel management policies and procedures and the ability to interpret and apply same to achieve departmental goals
  • Proven ability to successfully manage departmental budgets, explain and provide corrections to budget variances
  • Demonstrated contribution to the development and control of the operating and capital budgets
  • Demonstrated experience in the human resource management
  • Demonstrated leadership success
  • Demonstrated ability to deal effectively and co-operatively with all levels of staff, patients and the public and demonstrated success in establishing respect and credibility through actions
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate in a clear, concise and professional manner
  • Demonstrated effective conflict resolution skills
  • Demonstrated organizational and time management skills with an ability to multi-task during high stress situations
  • Collaborative approach to problem solving

Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's Degree in Health Administration
  • Member of Registered Nurses Association of Ontario (RNAO)
Hours of WorkHours of work for this position are 37.5 hours/week.
