Roadway Intermediate Project Engineer

- Develop engineering designs and drawings from preliminary concepts, specifications, bid documents, engineering directives, and other data, according to client specifications for municipal road and highway infrastructure projects.
- Design and prepare geometric alignments, roadway plans, profiles, cross sections, intersections, earthworks, roadside safety, storm drainage systems, and underground services.
- Prepare reports, calculations, technical memos, and meeting minutes and support project managers with proposal writing, business development, and client-based support.
- Coordinate the design of utility relocations, property acquisitions, and permitting/approvals from stakeholders and environmental agencies.
- Develop and oversee preparation of contract packages including design drawings, specifications, and cost estimates.
- Conduct QA/QC reviews and stamp/seal engineering drawings and documents
- Provide engineering services during construction activities including reviewing shop drawings for conformance with specifications, response to inquiries, and resolve construction issues.

- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from a recognized institution
- Licensed Ontario Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) with minimum 5 years of demonstrated experience in Civil Engineering design and project engineering in municipal roads and/or highways including preliminary and detailed design, drawings, cost estimate, specifications, and contract documents.
- Familiarity with transportation design standards and guidelines in Ontario and some familiarity with municipal and provincial clients and approving agencies
- Understanding of transportation design and construction standards, construction specifications and regulations.
- Experience conducting road construction site inspections would be an asset.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, InRoads/OpenRoads, MS Project, and MS Office
- Excellent written and verbal presentation and communication skills, time management and organization skills, work on multiple projects to meet established deadlines, and ability to work under pressure.
